The measure was taken due to the current pandemic scenario that has taken place, aiming at the safety and well-being of all those involved. The decision was made by the festival’s directors and Amazon Best (the company responsible for selling the tickets) issued a note stating: “Nobody was prepared for the social and financial impacts of the pandemic and the events and tourism sector was the most affected. We ask, therefore, your understanding for this exceptional moment that we live ”.

The company informed that those who have already purchased their tickets will have the following options: validation of the ticket for the new date of the event without additions or fees, full refund, or conversion into credit for other events produced by the same. Also emphasizing that all options will be supported under the conditions established in Provisional Measure 948/20.

The Parintins Festival is a popular festival that takes place annually at the end of June in the city of Parintins, which was recognized in 2019 as Cultural Heritage of Brazil by the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN). The performances start on the last Friday of the month of June until Sunday and symbolize an open-air dispute between two folkloric groups of Bois Garantido (red) and Caprichoso (blue), which take place at the Parintins Cultural Center, better known as Bumbódromo, which has a capacity for 35 thousand spectators.

The festival is a major celebration of indigenous culture in the State of Amazonas and attracts people from all over the world and is therefore recognized as the largest folkloric event in Latin America and the largest open-air opera in the world.
